Website Security

Security scans, patching, and hardening for PHP and CMS websites. Free PHP2Shell exposure scan through November 20, 2026.

Most websites that get compromised weren’t targeted — they were running an old version of something with a known hole. We find what your site is exposing, explain it in plain language, and fix it.

Why now: PHP2Shell

On October 21, 2026, The Hacker News reported two critical remote-code-execution flaws in PHP, nicknamed “PHP2Shell” by researchers, which PHP rated 9.2 on CVSS v4.0. PHP scheduled out-of-cycle fixes for its supported 8.2–8.5 branches. End-of-life branches — PHP 8.1, 8.0, 7.x, and 5.x — get no vendor patch, and researchers counted roughly 884,000 internet-facing hosts reporting PHP 8.1 or older. The full scope of affected versions was still developing at publication.

PHP runs WordPress and a large share of the web, often on shared hosting where nobody is watching the version number. If you don’t know what PHP version your site runs, that’s the first thing to find out.

Limited offer: free security scan

Through November 20, 2026, we’ll run a free external security scan of your website for PHP2Shell exposure. You get a plain-language report of what we found and what to do about it.

Sign a 12-month website hosting agreement and we’ll fix the issue for free — upgrading or patching PHP and moving your site onto a supported version as part of the move.

Scans are non-intrusive and run only against sites you own or are authorized to have tested; we’ll confirm that with you in writing before we start.

What the service covers

  • Exposure scan — PHP, web server, CMS core, theme, and plugin versions checked against known vulnerabilities, plus TLS and security headers.
  • Report — findings ranked by real risk, not by scanner noise.
  • Remediation — patching, upgrades, removal of abandoned plugins, and configuration hardening.
  • Compromise checks — when something looks wrong: web shells, unexpected files in the web root, new cron jobs, and new accounts, with logs preserved first.

Where this experience comes from

CompleteTech publishes its security work in the open, including the VapeTM disclosure of hardcoded AWS IAM credentials. Years of HIPAA-regulated healthcare IT shaped how we handle what we find: quietly, documented, and with the owner in the loop.

The first conversation

Send us your site’s address and confirm you own it. We’ll schedule the scan and walk you through the results.

The automated part of the scan reads the PHP version your server advertises publicly. It sends no exploit payloads, so a matching version is a warning sign, not proof of a vulnerability. We complete the other checks in the terms by hand before sending your report.
